Updated: May 12
Our Thatcham surgery re-opened on Monday 11th May. The current opening hours for Thatcham are 9am-5pm for appointments and collecting medication. Please don't enter the building without calling first.
Over the last few weeks, we have remained open and available for all of our unwell and injured patients. Our members of staff have been working hard to provide telephone and video consultations for minor ailments, as well as processing repeat prescriptions as normal. We want to thank all of our clients for their patience and understanding during this time as things have been far from normal.
Whilst we are still not allowing clients into the building we are still very much able to see your pets. Some of our preventative healthcare services have resumed including vaccinations for puppies and kittens and adult animals that are identified at higher risk of infectious diseases.
So here is an update on the services we are providing currently:
Vaccinations for the following animals:
Cats overdue their booster by 3 months.
For animals where there is a risk of unwanted pregnancies. For example when un-neutered male and females live together and can not be easily separated.
For medical reasons. E.g retained testicles.
Repeat medications can be ordered online here. Our usual repeat prescription service remains. We are experiencing a really high demand for medications and we are working really hard to maintain our usual time frame of 24 hours from request to the collection. However, we do ask that you do not come to the practice to collect medication until we have told you it is ready. Please call us before collection to pay over the phone. We will then ask you to phone when you have arrived and we will bring it to the collection point in the car park.
Posting of medications is also possible so just let us know your preferences.
We are pleased that we can partially resume our services in preventative healthcare and appreciate that some of you have been concerned about when this might happen. It's important to reiterate though that it is not 'business as usual' at Donnington Grove. We will continue to carry out our social distancing regime to protect our clients and our staff. On arrival to the practice, you must phone us to check-in and then remain waiting outside, at least 2 metres away from other clients, until a member of our clinical team comes out to you. Clients are not permitted inside the building at this time.
